Federally grant funded, the Design and Analysis Toolkit for Inventory and Monitoring (DATIM) project is a team of professional staff and student research assistants working to develop a software application to aid in natural resource inventory for the U.S. Forest Service. The team’s main responsibilities include testing for Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (the law governing accessibility of information technology (IT) in the Federal government). This includes compliance and accessibility, quality assurance testing of the application, documenting and reporting testing efforts, note taking on project conference calls, drafting publications, and creating training videos.
