Student Involvement and Leadership

Greek Life

Belonging to one of SUU’s sororities or fraternities means belonging to something bigger than yourself while making memories and life-long friends. Membership in the Greek community is also about leadership experiences, becoming part of a community and giving back. SUU is home to four Greek-letter organizations: Alpha Phi (sorority), Delta Psi Omega (sorority), and Sigma Chi (fraternity) and Chi Phi (fraternity).

Every year Greek students provide hundreds of hours of community service, raise thousands of dollars for charities and build leadership skills.

Greek students also tap into a network of chapters around the world and build connections with Greek alumni such as former Utah Governor Jon Huntsman (Sigma Chi), award-winning actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley (Alpha Phi), renowned news anchor Walter Cronkite (Chi Phi) and many, many more.

Starting The Recruitment Process

Coming to college can be an intimidating experience especially when you don't know many people and are new to the campus. An excellent way to meet people, socialize, and develop your leadership skills is joining a fraternity or sorority. Fraternity and sorority recruitment is designed to be a low-pressure, no-commitment experience for students who want to determine if going Greek is the right thing for them. During the second week of Fall semester, fraternities and sororities host informative and fun activities that allow interested students an opportunity to meet active members and learn about each Greek organization.

To participate in fraternity and sorority recruitment follow these simple steps:

STEP 1: Complete the Recruitment Registration Form (Required)

STEP 2: Attend the Club Fair during Thunderbird Flight School or Welcome Week (Optional)

STEP 3: Pick Up a Schedule of Recruitment Events from Greek Representatives (Optional)

STEP 4: Attend any Recruitment Events that are Open or that you are Invited to (Optional)

Recruitment Registration

All students who are interested in joining a fraternity or sorority must complete this application before they can participate in the events and activities of "Recruitment Week." By completing this form, you are not committing to join an organization but expressing your interest in exploring the possibilities for participating in Greek Life at Southern Utah University. Some of the information you submit through this application will be shared with recruitment representatives from the fraternities and sororities at SUU. Specifically, organizations may receive your name, contact information, high school, class status at SUU, extracurricular involvement, leadership experience, legacy status, and the organizations you are interested in. Please provide accurate information in all of the required fields (Required fields are denoted by a red star). The information you provide will be verified by the Office of Student Involvement and Leadership.

United Greek Council

The United Greek Council provides leadership for the Greek Community at Southern Utah University. Each recognized fraternity and sorority on campus is represented on the Council. The Council meets weekly to coordinate activities, create and review community standards, and address issues associated with maintaining a vibrant Greek Community.
