SUU's Construction Management program is well distinguished, with students from all over the world entering the program. With Dr. Mohamed Askar, program director and professor of construction management, recognized as a member of the ACI and an advisor of the new Student Chapter, students will have access to the free membership and benefits of being a part of the American Concrete Institution. As SUU students advance in their professional careers, ACI is proud to support our construction management and civil engineering majors through guidance and expertise during their transition to industry.

The American Concrete Institute is a globally recognized source for consensus-based ACI standards, technical resources, educational and training programs and certification programs related to concrete design, construction and materials. It serves individuals and organizations dedicated to maximizing the potential of concrete design.

"Over the last three years, I came to realize the benefits of the ACI student chapter, especially offering fellowships, scholarships, conferences, internships, awards, career development and concrete library sources, as well as allowing students to participate in concrete certifications," said Askar.

ACI has made significant investments in hands-on training and in-person education for tradespeople, contractors, inspectors, designers, and engineers through ACI Resource Centers. As SUU students advance in their professional careers, ACI will support construction management and civil engineering majors through guidance and expertise during their transitions.

The Intermountain Chapter, covering the entire state of Utah, parts of Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana, will now include SUU. The chapter collects, organizes, and shares information to enhance the design, construction, production, application and upkeep of concrete structures and products.
