• Annual Events:

We offer several annual events throughout the academic year to help you make the most of your time at SUU. In addition to these annual events, our iBuddies plan activities to help you learn more about the area.
If you want to stay informed of all upcoming international events, sign up for our text messaging announcements.

    Fall International Student Orientation:
This event is required for all incoming international students. In addition to covering some important information to help you with your transition to Southern Utah University and the surrounding area, we will have an opening social where you will meet our iBuddies, along with other international students.

    International Photo Contest:
The purpose of this competition is to encourage students, faculty, and staff to think internationally and to reflect and share their past international experiences.

    Fall International Food Fair:
There are many ways to learn about a culture other than your own: learn their language, live in their country, learn their history, and of course eat their food! Any cultural experience is incomplete unless you have eaten the local food. Our semi-annual food fair is to help SUU students experience global cultures through their food. Recipes are provided by our international faculty, staff, and students. Be sure to mark this event on your calender!

  • Programs:

    Host Family
Our Host Family program is to help international students learn more about Cedar City and the American culture, as well as to help our local families learn more about various world cultures without leaving home. We hope that this program will benefit all those involved.

    iBuddy
The iBuddy organization is a peer mentor program to help our new international students adjust to their new surroundings. The students who volunteer as iBuddies are domestic and international students who have an interest in helping new students. They help our students by planning social, cultural, and educational activities, along with being a support to our students as they work through the challenges of being in a new culture. All of our international students will work with our iBuddies via email during the summer before they arrive at Southern Utah University.
