Psychology

Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. As psychologists, our goal is to understand, predict, and effectively alter human behavior. Graduates from the SUU Psychology Department enjoy very high placement rates to graduate programs in professional counseling, clinical psychology, social work, experimental psychology, social psychology, neuroscience, and other disciplines. Additionally, most graduates from our program easily find employment related to their field of study.

Our graduates find work in various human service agencies (DSFS, DWS, DSPD), mental health facilities, public land agencies, residential treatment centers, correctional facilities, adult probation and parole, in juvenile justice settings, law enforcement, human resource offices, colleges and universities, daycares and preschools, businesses, private consulting firms, etc.

AVAILABLE RESOURCES

Undergraduate students have access to computer labs, experimental labs and an animal lab. We also have contacts that help students find internships and practicum experiences at over 100 community sites. Each of our faculty hold advanced degrees and remain active scholars in their field. Most are nationally and internationally recognized for their work.
