Human Nutrition

Recognizing the critical role of nutrition to all human endeavors, nutrition students combine their personal or professional interests with knowledge to provide sound, science-based principles, theories, and applications. The nutrition program prepares students for a number of nutrition related careers or entrance into a graduate program upon completion. Additionally, the program promotes wellness by offering courses to compliment a variety of other disciplines, especially those related to health and human services, and athletics.

Health educator, Consultant, Corporate wellness consultant, Dietary aide, Dietary director, Dietary manager, Dietetic technician, Extension service, Fitness center director, Food service manager, Marketer for food/pharmaceutical company, Media spokesperson, Nutrition researcher, Product development, Weight loss specialist, Writer for food/heath magazine; with further education an undergraduate degree in nutrition could also lead to the following careers: Registered dietitian,Certified diabetes educator, Certified dietary manager, College/ University professor, Private practice dietitian, and any allied health field (doctor, dentist, physical therapist, physician’s assistant, pharmacist, etc.)

AVAILABLE RESOURCES

The Department of Agriculture and Nutrition Science is located in the General Classroom Building. Students have access to professional faculty and staff, foods lab, living room and a dietary analysis computer program.
