Student and Professor Dancing
The dance program is dedicated to giving students the opportunity to find their individual strengths and further develop their skills to prepare them to enter a professional, graduate or educational field. Students have the opportunity to study modern dance, ballet, character, tap and jazz. Additionally, majors will have the opportunity to attend professional conferences, festivals and work with visiting artists to broaden their understanding of the rigors and rewards of dance performance at the professional level.

Current job:
Professional Dancer
STREB Extreme Action
NYC

“The SUU dance program helped me develop not only as a performer and craftsman, but also as an inventor and thinker. I credit SUU with providing, thanks to gifted professors, a sound base in ballet and modern technique; I was also introduced to tap, jazz and improvisation. While offering residences with an eclectic mix of dance professionals, as well as annual trips to ACDF, SUU instilled in me a confidence to pursue dance as a successful livelihood, and I am currently in my fourth year with STREB Extreme Action in New York City.”
