Pre-Optometry
Though SUU does not host a pre-optometry major, we offer the
support and guidance to ensure students interested in optometry
careers are well-positioned for acceptance into graduate school. Our
biology and chemistry majors have gained admission to top optometry
schools by completing the required pre-optometry pre-requisites while
pursuing an undergraduate degree at SUU. College of Science academic
advisors and optometry faculty advisors work closely with our preoptometry
students to chart the ideal academic program for their success.
ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT
Name: Lance Higbee
Graduated: Class of 2010
“I chose to come to SUU because I had an offer to play basketball and I felt that the institution provided great academics in a great location. After getting married a few years into my college career, basketball tapered off and academics became more of a priority. As my life and priorities changed, SUU remained constant in teaching and preparing me for the future.”
