Get to know Dana:

Hometown: Born in Northern California but have lived in Kanab, Murray, Kaysville, UT, & Las Vegas, NV.

Degrees: B.A. in Interpersonal Communication (minor in Business Management) 2002 - Southern Utah University

Favorite Building on Campus: Sharwan Smith Student Center -- at the heart of the hustle & bustle of campus. I spent many hours working as a student in the School Relations Office, going to dances & comedians in the Ballroom & trying to occasionally find a quiet corner to study. Got to love a Hogi Yogi treat too!

What little known fact about SUU do you like to share most? 77% of classes have fewer than 30 students & over 47% of those classes have fewer than 20 students. Personal attention at its finest!

Favorite Quote: "Good, better, best, Never, never rest; Until the good becomes better, And the better becomes best."

Hobbies and Interests: Traveling & spontaneous road trips, bargain hunting, reading, and eating at as many restaurants featured on Food Network's 'Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives' as possible.

Favorite Place to Eat in Cedar City: Appetizer: Breadsticks @ Pizza Factory, Salad: Pastry Pub, Main Course: Anything from Costa Vida, Drink: Brad's Food Hut Vanilla Dr. Pepper, Dessert: Fried Ice Cream from La Fiesta.

People would be surprised to know that: I once slept overnight on a casino floor to get tickets to see a show.

Best bit of advice for students looking for a college/university? From studying abroad a semester in France to riding on a float in the Homecoming Parade to finding your favorite study spot in the library to earning a degree with some of your favorite professors....SUU is a total overall education -- not just degree factory. It's all here for you.

Most embarrassing "college" moment: My roommates & I got in a major prank war with an apartment of boys in our complex. They built a snow fort that encompassed our entire front door, dumping water on it to freeze the structure so we had to use our front window to get in & out of the house for 2 days. One thing led to another and we baked them a batch of Ex-Lax cookies which one of their girlfriends unknowingly ate causing her to become very sick. Woops!

Years working at SUU: 10 Years
