From concept development and planning (pre-award) through implementation and management of funded projects (post-award), we will support you every step of the way.
How SPARC Can Help
Assistance is provided in identifying potential extramural funding sources, developing proposal narratives and budgets, completing standardized application forms, assuring compliance with all applicable federal, state and university regulations, negotiating grant awards and contracts, and administering and closing out funded projects.

Director's Message
Southern Utah University continues to show what’s possible when determination meets creativity. In a year when the national funding environment has been especially challenging, our faculty and staff have found ways to turn obstacles into opportunities. Through persistence, collaboration, and vision, you’ve maintained steady funding levels while expanding SUU’s footprint—reaching new partners and audiences across the nation and even around the globe. It is an honor to serve and celebrate your accomplishments.
At SPARC, we are inspired by your drive. Our team is committed to keeping pace with your ambitions, continually learning and adapting to support you. We know grantsmanship can feel complex and, at times, daunting—but that’s where we thrive. We take pride in translating regulations, navigating systems, and helping transform those efforts into meaningful, rewarding successes that highlight the incredible work happening at SUU.
To our faculty and staff — If you haven’t yet, I invite you to get to know our exceptional SPARC team. We’re here to help you find the funding and support that move your ideas forward. From personalized proposal development to hands-on management after award, our goal is to let you focus on what you do best—teaching, discovery, and creating impact.
To our students — You are the reason we do what we do. You’ve chosen a university that puts your success first, where research and creative activity are woven into the undergraduate experience. These opportunities not only strengthen your résumé and graduate applications but also shape your confidence and future. We’d love to connect you with the mentors and experiences that make that possible.
Thank you for the opportunity to walk alongside you in your journey. Together, we’re building a culture of discovery and innovation that reaches far beyond our campus.
Always Forward,
