Yes. The SUU MAcc program is specifically designed to meet the 150-semester-hour requirement for CPA licensure in Utah and most other states. The curriculum is structured to provide the deep technical knowledge required for the current CPA Exam sections while ensuring you meet the higher-level accounting credit requirements.
SUU offers a unique "Bridge" program for students with non-accounting backgrounds. This allows you to take the necessary foundational accounting courses (such as Intermediate Accounting, Tax, and Audit) to qualify for the Master’s level courses. Once these prerequisites are met, you can transition directly into the MAcc curriculum.
No. One of the primary advantages of SUU’s MAcc is that the GMAT/GRE is not required for admission. We focus on your undergraduate GPA and your performance in upper-division accounting coursework to determine your readiness for the program.
The program is highly flexible and consists of 30 credit hours.

Accelerated Pace: Many full-time students complete the degree in as little as two semesters (approximately 10 months).

Tuition: For the current academic year, the total estimated tuition for the 30-hour program is approximately $14,000 to $16,000 (subject to minor changes based on student fees).

Yes. The MAcc at Southern Utah University is a STEM-designated program. This classification reflects the rigorous, data-driven nature of our curriculum. For international students, this designation is critical as it allows for the 24-month OPT extension, providing a total of 36 months of work authorization in the U.S. following graduation.
