General Information on Departmental Test-Out / Credit by Exam

• Credit by exam is given only to students currently and actively enrolled at SUU.
• A maximum of 30 General Education credit hours may be applied toward graduation from Credit by Exam and CLEP (or a combination of).
• A maximum of 6 credit hours may be awarded in any one area of General Education from a combination of Credit by Exam and CLEP.
• Credit by Exam may be granted a standard letter grade or pass/fail, as agreed upon by the instructor and student.

Standard Test-Out / Credit by Exam Courses

SUU has an established procedure for testing out of the following course:

• INFO 1010 Information Literacy

Process to Receive Credit by Exam

1. Complete the Credit by Exam form.
2. Pay $6/credit at the Cashier's Office (ST 165).
3. Take the form and proof of payment to the instructor.
4. Take the test.
5. The instructor will turn in the form with the grade earned to the Registrar's Office, who will post the credit on the student's transcript.
