The Festival Fellows Program and the Red Rock Percussion Group:
An important part of our mission is education. Select students have the opportunity to join our Crossroads Festival Fellows program, which includes a week-long camp of lessons, and rehearsal with SUU professors Dr. Lynn Vartan and Professor Joseph Howe. Performing as the Red Rock Percussion Group, these students will perform as an opening act on both nights of our festival.
Crossroads Family Day:
In conjunction with artsFUSION, SUMA, and the Johnson Center, we are excited to announce our 2023 Crossroads Family Day. Start your day off at SUMA on SUU Campus and create an art project and a percussion instrument inspired by samba music and culture from Brazil. Then join us at Noon for a percussion parade with Samba Fogo while we march and play music from SUMA to the Johnson Center just around the block. You will then be invited to join our "Instrument Petting Zoo" at the Johnson Center where families are given a hands-on and family geared learning experience from Samba Fogo and Heartland Marimba Quartet.
