SUU's immersive MMFT program trains therapists to understand how relationships, systems, and context shape presenting issues. With hands-on clinical experience, dedicated faculty, and a culturally responsive curriculum, students learn to strengthen individuals, couples, and families, empower change, and lead with compassion in a rapidly evolving mental health field.

Admission Requirements

  • A 3.0 GPA
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • A one page letter of intent describing how your personal and career goals match the aims of our program.
  • Completion of the essay portion of the application
  • Social science majors (Psychology, Family Studies, Social Work, etc.) recommended, but not required.
  • Experience in the field of mental health, either through work or volunteering highly recommended

Applications are due December 15, 2025 for our Fall 2026 cohort.
