Despite the fact that he won’t be able to attend the ceremony tonight because he is hosting a new building celebration on the Cedar City campus, SUU President Steven D. Bennion is going to be the first alumnus of Olympus High School to be inducted into the Titan Hall of Fame.

The high school is holding a special assembly tonight, Wednesday, September 24, 2003, as part of their Homecoming activities, to recognize members of the school’s alumni from the past 50 years.

“This is a great honor in light of the many accomplished and talented people to graduate from that wonderful school. It is a shock to me but I had a wonderful experience there,” said Bennion.

President Bennion is the first alumni to be selected for this honor and will respond to the audience in Salt Lake City through a videotape presentation.
A plaque with a picture to hang on the wall at the school detailed his selection by noting “… your leadership and service to the education community over the years makes us very proud of you and the association we enjoy.”

Olympus will make this the inaugural of an annual event to recognize outstanding success by their graduates.
