On Friday, November 10, 2006, Southern Utah University will present the 19th Annual Veterans Day Observance Program. The ceremony will be held in the Sharwan Smith Center Ballroom at 11:00 a.m. Our program has always been intended to honor all veterans and their service to the United States of America while recognizing a few individuals specifically. We would like to invite everyone to attend.

This year we will honor two World War II veterans and a number of current students that recently returned from deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Clemont Adams and Ray Baumgartner both served in the European Theater and were members of bomber crews. There are at least 50 current students returning to school this term from an overseas deployment. We have also invited all members of the 2nd Battalion 222nd Field Artillery, recently returned from Iraq, to be our guests.

As is tradition, we have asked the fifth grade students in Iron County to participate in a poster contest titled "What My Country Means to Me." There will be patriotic music and a short reception after the program.
