Painter and Draftsman Presents at SUU Art Insights

The SUU Department of Art and Design will feature Jeffrey Abt, a painter and draftsman, in this weeks Art Insights presentation Thursday, April 5th at 7 p.m. in the J.L. Sorenson Physical Education Building, room 101.

Abt will discuss his work and career in the arts. He is recognized by Who's Who in American Art and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Art and Art History at Wayne State University. His work features many archeological subjects as well as interior building images.

Abt’s work has been exhibited around the country and is included in the permanent collections of world-renown museums such as the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art in Kansas City Missouri. His papers and publications have been funded by organizations such as the National Endowment for the Humanities and Rockefeller University.

Art Insights is a weekly program hosted during the Fall and Spring semesters by the Art and Design faculty. Art Insights brings professionals from many different fields of the visual art world to Cedar City. Admission is free, and the general public is invited to attend. This Art Insights is sponsored by State Bank of Southern Utah.
