OPUS, SUU’s premier vocal ensemble, will be directed by Dr. Keith Bradshaw; Concert Choir will be directed by Sara Guttenberg; and the Women’s Chorale will be conducted by Jackie Jackson. The concert will feature a wide variety of choral repertoire, featuring works by contemporary American compositors such as Eric Whitacre to selections from classical masterworks such as “The Creation” by Franz Joseph Haydn. Approximately 150 students will perform in the concert.
The SUU Department of Music is enjoying growing numbers of students participating in vocal music ensembles this year. “Choral Collage” will feature a revival performance of the SUU Women’s Chorale following a period of inactivity for the ensemble. Director Jackson said, “It is an exciting time in the SUU Department of Music that participation numbers are up enough to support a well-balanced women’s ensemble.” The group will unveil its new official name as part of “Choral Collage.”
