Set in a 1930’s theatre, Our Town is the story of an average community depicted through the everyday lives of its inhabitants.
The show begins with the necessities of a daily routine and reveals a family’s intimate and established lives. Through the process of the following three acts, Wilder allows the characters to explore the need for human companionship and gradually shows the deeper aspects of life and death. During this exploration, Our Town reveals the age old tale of children in a hurry to grow up but still wanting to hold on to the security of childhood.
