Founders Day Festivities Mark 115th Birthday

With 115 years to celebrate, Southern Utah University opened its annual Founders Day Week on Monday, March 19. The campus and local communities — the countless individuals who have brought SUU to its current level of success and prestige — are all invited to join in the week's festivities:
SUU Convocations: U.S. Ambassador John Price
Tuesday, March 20, 11:30 a.m.
Gilbert Great Hall, Hunter Conference Center
Ambassador Price will present "When the White House Calls," a discussion about his path to the highest echelons of international leadership. This Convocation will explore the life story of John Price, one of Utah’s most prominent citizens, beginning with his birth in Germany, through his years as a successful real estate developer, to his life as a diplomat.
From 2002 to 2005, John Price served as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Mauritius, the Republic of Seychelles, and the Union of Comoros, three Indian Ocean island nations off the east coast of Africa.

Howard R. Driggs Memorial Lecture: Dr. Claudia L. Bushman
Wednesday, March 21, 7 p.m.
Gilbert Great Hall, Hunter Conference Center
Dr. Bushman will present "Lost, Stolen, or Strayed: The Unrecorded Life" as this year's guest lecture in partnership with the SUU Gerald R. Sherratt Library and the Howard R. Driggs Memorial Lecture Advisory Committee. Bushman will speak on the topic of women’s history and the pioneer West. The author of twelve books on social and cultural history and Mormonism, Bushman was Professor of American Studies at Columbia University in New York City.
