What was trending a few months ago in the online business world has now changed to something bigger and better, stay on top of the curve with TechUp Southern Utah’s and the Business Executive Speaker Series’ monthly forum, to help students and businessman to network and share ideas.

The next meeting will feature Jonathan Johnson, chairman of Overstock.com, and will help graphics designers, entrepreneurs, programmers, engineers, marketers, web designers, actors, artists and many others share ideas and brainstorm about how they can help each other develop their ideas.

Johnson’s forum, titled “Trends in E-Commerce,” will be Friday, November 14 at noon in Starlight Room located within the Southern Utah University Sharwan Smith Student Center. The event is open to everyone and will include free pizza.

Johnson has been chairman of Overstock.com since April 2014. He joined Overstock.com in 2002 as the Company's general counsel and held various business and legal related positions before becoming the company's president. He has been part of Overstock.com's meteoric growth from a small start-up to a publicly traded company with $1.1 billion in sales and more than 1,400 employees.

TechUp is an on-going series of monthly innovation, technology, and entrepreneurship forums that are typically held at noon on the second Friday of each month, in the basement of the Utah Summer Games building, unless otherwise noted. State Bank of Southern Utah and Jeff Kahn, national advisory board member, made the Business Executive Speaker Series possible. In addition to programmatic support, State Bank generally provides one speaker per semester to address SUU’s students.
