Business Executive Series hosts former SUU athlete

Do you know where you’re going and how you’re going to get there? On Thursday, January 21st, Dave Pinamonti, an SUU alumni and former athlete, will be presenting in the State Bank of Southern Utah Business Executive Speaker Series on “Is Life a Dress Rehearsal?”. He will present in the Starlight Room of the Sharwan Smith Student Center on the Southern Utah University campus at 11:30 AM. In his presentation, Mr. Pinamonti will discuss the process of how to get where you want to go in life.
Dave Pinamonti has more than 38 years of experience in the Home Furnishings industry with the vast majority of time focused on the Furniture industry, involved primarily with “start-ups and turnarounds” and changing business models. He is currently the President of Somerton Dwelling based in Corona, California. In this capacity, he has been heavily involved in the complete rebranding and repositioning of the company from product design to marketing while the company has developed and expanded the E-commerce side of the business.
His extensive experience in senior executive positions began when he worked for Stanley Furniture as the Vice President of Sales. In this position he was responsible for developing major accounts with Havertys, Rooms to Go, Pottery Barn, Raymour-Flanigan, Levitz and others. In addition, he developed the “Young America Lifestyle Shop” program, which was the first youth furniture gallery and was the most successful youth furniture brand in the industry. He was part of the senior management team when they took the company public.
Mr. Pinamonti achieved similar successes throughout his career and has worked in many different capacities. Past management experience includes Vice President of Business Development for Durham Furniture, General Manager for the Heritage Brands, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Universal Furniture, Senior Vice President of Worldwide Sales for Broyhill Furniture, and Senior Vice President of Marketing & Sales for A-America Furniture.
Dave Pinamonti earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Southern Utah University. He also has attended a graduate extension program at UCLA and took executive seminar courses on sales and marketing through the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He is married to his lovely wife Jeanne, and together they have two grown daughters and three grandchildren.
