Dancing with the SUU StarsDancing with the Stars will be held in the Centrum Arena on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. Watch as students, faculty, and staff dance their hearts out to win this year’s Dancing with the Stars competition. Tickets are $7 to the public and $5 for SUU students, faculty, and staff.

This year’s competitors include a variety of Southern Utah University favorites: Natalie Trejo, senior SUU gymnast; Dr. Janice Scarinci, professor of Management, Marking & Hospitality and the Hospitality Management Guild advisor; Dallas Hall, campus events technician; Brandon Day, current SUU Student Body President; Parker Hess, current College of Performing & Visual Arts Senator and this year's Mr. SUU; Tommy Gugino, a graduate student and campus marketing employee; Joshua Price, economics professor; Gina Dodge, an Alpha Phi and art major; and Lizzy Brown, this year's Miss SUU.

Beth Feild, SUU Ballroom Director, said the ballroom dance company looks forward to this exciting competition: “This event is one of our favorite nights of the year! It brings the whole campus community together for a night of music, dancing, and some hearty competition.”

This evening proves to be exciting as stars from varying levels of dance ability take the stage with their ballroom company counterparts! Each star will perform in one number with a response and score from the panel of judges. Two finalists will be chosen by the panel. The third finalist will be determined by audience vote. With a performance from each of the finalists, the audience is asked to vote one last time.

“If you've ever watched Dancing with the Stars on ABC and wished you could be in the audience; this is your chance to come experience the competition live!” Feild went on to say, “The winner is determined by audience vote, so it can be anybody. Come show your support and vote for your favorite SUU star!”

Tickets can be purchased from the Centrum Box Office (435) 586-7872, online at tbirdtickets.com, or in advance from any participating star or member of the ballroom dance company.
