MPA ClassroomSouthern Utah University’s Master of Public Administration program has been ranked among the top 50 MPA online programs in the nation by Top Management Degrees. The list was narrowed from 165 MPA online programs across the country.

The SUU MPA online program is recognized for its accreditation by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities, annual recognition by the Princeton Review, and inclusion at one of 27 universities in the U.S. designated as both a public liberal arts and a sciences university.

The MPA degree is designed for students interested in management positions in public or nonprofit sectors. Instructing in areas of organizational management and ethical decision making, the SUU MPA online program also covers executive and community leadership.

Patrick Clarke, Dean of the School of Integrative & Engaged Learning, knows the program provides important opportunities for all students.

“Our graduates are landing great jobs in a variety of public sectors, including higher education,” Clarke said. “Combining foundational public administration principles with a variety of higher education topics has produced a very marketable degree for professionals seeking employment on America’s college campuses.”

The 36-semester-hour program is a professional degree suitable for those interested in pursuing a career in management. SUU provides an intellectual, collaborative, and engaged learning environment where practical and theoretical concepts of public administration are presented within historical, political, social, cultural, and economic contexts. Students learn to act as facilitators in defining and pursuing the public interest.

According to MPA student Deena Marchal, “MPA students have the unique opportunity to structure the program to fit their needs and give real-world experience.”

“Whether you prefer courses that are face-to-face classes, online, or a combination of both, the curriculum feels individualized with a unique combination of core classes and learning experiences,” said Marchal.
