Wright is best known for her books, Lies Jane Austen Told Me and My Not So Fairy-Tale. The literary event will take place at Southern Utah University at the Gerald R. Sherratt Library in the Huntsman Reading Room on Saturday, January 20, at 7 p.m.

Wright wrote her first book when she was 15 and has since written 23 novels and co-authored three. She won the Whitney award for best romance in 2010 with her novel Cross My Heart and the Crown Heart award for The Fortune Cafe. She has been a Whitney Awards finalist for the novels Eyes Like Mine and Death Thieves.

“We are hosting this event to highlight romance as a genre in itself,” says Christopher Clark, SUU’s Outreach Librarian. “It is being hosted in conjunction with the Friends of the Library and serves as a way to give a voice to writers of romance. Attendees will be treated to discussions on the genre from bestselling authors as well as refreshments. It should be especially beneficial to romance enthusiasts, readers, and aspiring writers.”

The discussion will be moderated by New York Times best selling author, L. E. Modesitt Jr. Modesitt is the author of more than 70 novels including four separate fantasy series. His latest novel, Assassin’s Price, was released in July from Tor/Macmillan.

The event is open to the public and will be fun for readers and writers of all abilities. Attendees will be able to discuss writing and publishing romance and its unacknowledged presence in all forms of fiction. To find out more, contact the Sherratt Library at Library@suu.edu.
