Andrew Sproul Tabbed As Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement

Andrew SproulAndrew Sproul has been hired as Southern Utah Athletics’ Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement.

“I'm excited to move to Cedar City and become a part of Southern Utah University,” Sproul said. “It's an exciting time to be joining SUU Athletics and I look forward to helping enhance the Southern Utah experience for our student-athletes and supporters! I want to thank Debbie Corum and the SUU Athletic Department for this tremendous opportunity. My wife and I are excited to join T-Bird Nation and we look forward to working with the Cedar City community.”

Most recently, Sproul served as a Marketing Coordinator at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. While working for UAB, his primary duties included creating and implementing marketing plans, as well as executing game day responsibilities, for women’s soccer, beach volleyball and the school’s various Olympic sports. Working with women’s soccer he increased average attendance by 35 percent during the 2017 season. He was also responsible for group ticket sales for select sports, and oversaw interaction with their IMG corporate sponsorship program.

Sproul is very familiar with sports marketing in the state of Utah. Before making his way to Birmingham, Alabama, Sproul spent a little over three seasons at Utah State University as their Lead Marketing Intern. While working for USU he helped increase average attendance for women’s basketball, women’s gymnastics and softball. Specifically for gymnastics, attendance increased 47 percent during his time working with the program.   

"Andrew's experience at both the University of Alabama-Birmingham and Utah State has demonstrated his ability to both increase attendance at events and lead game production from a marketing standpoint, which will be at the forefront of his responsibilities,” SUU Athletic Director Debbie Corum said. “We welcome Andrew and his family back to the state of Utah and we are excited for him to get started at SUU."

During the summer of 2016, Sproul served as the Promotions and Operations Intern for the Orem Owlz, a Minor League affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. His primary duty with the Owlz included video production and music direction.

Sproul graduated from Utah State with a Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing. He is originally from Logan.
