People gathered to watch a movie in the park.

Party in the Park is back this summer to kick off summer with free fun, big-screen movies, and live music. In conjunction with Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games, SUU Community Education will present two Friday night events June 7 and 21 at Cedar City’s Main Street Park.

The Party in the Park pre-show starts at 7:30 p.m. with Funtime Inflatables, vendors, and live music provided by SUU’s Red Rockers. Movies will begin at sunset (approximately 9:30 p.m.) each evening with “Remember the Titans” June 7, and “Big Hero 6” June 21.

This favorite summertime annual event brings local residents, athletes and visitors together to enjoy warm summer nights in the heart of downtown. More than 9,000 athletes come to Cedar City each year for the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games, and they bring an estimated 30,000 family members with them.

“We are excited about Party in the Park–what an awesome way to spend your Friday night,” said Pace Clarke, director of the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games. “Whether you are here as an athlete, spectator, or resident of Cedar City, Party in the Park is a fun way to spend a summer evening.”

According to Susie Knudsen, assistant director of SUU Community Education, “We have such great support from our local business partners and we are thrilled to see everyone come together for a family night out.”

Party in the Park is presented by SUU Community Education with Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games. Sponsors include Funtime Inflatables, and Fiddlers Fun Center. For more information follow @SUUcommunityeducation on Facebook, or call (435) 865-8259. Admission to the event is free.
