The annual rankings highlight four-year colleges and universities that are serving the best interests of the country as a whole, based on their contribution in three categories: social mobility, research, and providing opportunities for public service.

SUU ranked number 49 in the America’s Best Bang for the Buck Colleges category, an exclusive list of schools ranked according to how well they help non-wealthy students attain marketable degrees at affordable prices. Washington Monthly considers graduates with and without Pell Grants, first-generation student numbers, graduation rates, predicted median earnings, and the net cost of education at each institution.

Statistics for average student loan debt, recently published by LendEDU, show that SUU has one of the lowest average debt per borrower figures in the United States. SUU ranks #1 for the lowest student debt among public universities in Utah and #22 for the lowest student loan debt out of all the public universities in the U.S.

With the goal of keeping school affordable for all students, SUU continually works to make quality education accessible. This past year, SUU was the only school in the Utah System for Higher Education that didn’t raise tuition and student fees and in August of 2019, the Utah State Board of Regents agreed to lower tuition for online-only undergraduate programs at SUU.

SUU proudly offers world-class, project-based learning opportunities where students gain professional experience before entering the job market. Here, students come to explore their interests and prepare for meaningful careers and life experiences in a safe, caring and affordable community. SUU’s commitment to providing relevant, experience-based and personalized education continues to garner a variety of national awards and recognition
