According to the Utah Department of Health, there have been NO cases reported anywhere in Utah.

Additional information regarding the coronavirus may be found at the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website.

What are the symptoms of coronavirus?

Symptoms of COVID-19 are similar to other respiratory illnesses like the cold or flu. Symptoms may include:

  • Runny nose
  • Headache
  • Cough
  • Sore throat
  • Fever
  • Shortness of breath

The incubation period (the time between exposure and symptoms) is unknown, though most coronaviruses have an incubation period of 2-14 days.

What You Can Do to Protect Yourself

If you have recently traveled internationally and experience symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath you should seek immediate medical care. Be sure to tell your doctor about your trip, and avoid contact with other people while you are sick.

To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus or other viruses, follow these simple precautions:

  • Practice good hygiene
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Don’t travel when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow or tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
  • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
  • Always wash hands with soap and water if your hands are visibly dirty.
  • Reconsider travel to any country with a CDC level 3 or State Department level 4 advisory based on the novel coronavirus.
