School of Business Receives Reaccreditation from AACSBSouthern Utah University’s Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business is proud to announce that they have been re-accredited after review by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Established in 1916, the AACSB accreditation has served as the highest standard for business education, ensuring students a sound investment of both time and money.

“I am very pleased and proud of the Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business faculty and staff for their continued dedication in ensuring a great education experience for our students,” said Dr. Mary Pearson, Dean of the School of Business. “Our commitment to our students and their success is our top priority and mission in the business school.”

SUU’s School of Business has been accredited by the AACSB since 2006. In accordance with the AACSB’s continuous improvement review, the school was reassessed this past year and all of SUU’s business undergraduate and graduate degrees were re-accredited. AACSB-accredited schools have been described as having the highest-caliber instructors and leading-edge courses and programs that connect a student’s education to the real world.

The process for accreditation included several in-depth self-assessments, the development of strategic plans for improvement, and peer and committee reviews, including three different groups that evaluated the school’s performance.

“Less than 5% of business schools worldwide are AACSB accredited institutions,” said Pearson. “Maintenance of accreditation requires a concerted commitment to excellence in the areas of teaching, research, and scholarship which is exhibited by the faculty and staff in the Dixie L Leavitt School of Business.”

After succeeding in their initial accreditation, the School of Business is continuously reassessed in order to ensure that quality standards are being maintained and improved upon. For the School of Business, this accreditation is another testament to the quality education provided at SUU. More information about the continuous improvement review is available on the AACSB’s website.

“Only the best schools around the world can meet the consistent, demanding requirements of earning AACSB Accreditation—the highest standard of quality in the world,” said the AACSB.

SUU’s School of Business is dedicated to providing students a rigorous, relevant, and innovative curriculum, focused on essential and enduring business principles, that provides students the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. The environment is designed to help students shape their ambitions and find direction as responsible and ethical individuals both personally and professionally.
