SUU Hosts First Summit on Virtual Reality in Higher Education

Virtual Reality and Augmented Innovation Studio at SUUSouthern Utah University is proud to announce the hosting of the XR Southern Summit, a conference aimed at exploring the latest advancements and opportunities in the fields of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) in relation to education. This conference will bring together experts and enthusiasts from various industries and universities to share their knowledge and experiences, and to discuss the applications of VR and AR in higher education and the classroom setting.

The conference will feature keynote speaker Michael McCready who is a leading educator and researcher within immersive technologies such as VR and AR, as well as plenary speakers Hugh Hou and Keeley Turner who run and direct a successful YouTube channel specializing in VR filmmaking. Attendees will be provided with a unique opportunity to learn about the latest developments and trends in AR and VR with presenters from the University of Utah, Brigham Young University, Utah Tech, Southern Utah University, Loma Linda University, and vendors from Infinadeck, Body Swaps, and more.

The conference will be held on Southern Utah University’s campus and is open to students, educators, industry professionals, and anyone interested in learning about VR and AR technologies. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced professional, the XR Southern Summit is an opportunity to gain knowledge, connect with others, and explore the exciting world of VR and AR.
