Currently an online program, the additional in-person option for the MSBA is designed for students who thrive in a collaborative, face-to-face environment, allowing participants to earn a specialized master's degree in just one year. Students can complete the full program in three consecutive semesters through two intensive 12-credit semesters in the fall and spring, followed by a final six-credit summer sprint for a total of 30 credits to complete the degree.

"The MSBA program is built around the idea that data is useless unless you can translate it into a story that moves a business forward," says Shankar Parajulee, Ph.D. MSBA Director and assistant professor of business analytics. “We are thrilled to bring this program to our physical campus. By moving into the classroom, we’re enhancing the mentorship and networking opportunities that make our graduates so successful in fields like finance, healthcare, and technology. Our goal is to produce graduates who don't just read data, but lead with it.'”

Bridging the gap between theory and practice, the MSBA program emphasizes experiential learning through real-world projects, internships, and direct collaboration with industry partners. Students graduate not just with a degree, but with a professional portfolio that showcases their ability to handle complex datasets. This preparation opens doors to high-impact careers such as business analyst, data scientist, and analytics manager across diverse sectors, including consulting, technology, finance, healthcare, and government.

This practical focus is exactly what helped alumni like Nicolas Fabre, an international student from France, find his footing in the American corporate world. Fabre, who now serves as the Business Manager for the University of Wyoming School of Pharmacy, credits the program with giving him a competitive edge.

“As an international student, the SUU MSBA program was instrumental in helping me differentiate myself in the U.S. job market,” Fabre shared. “From building executive-level summaries to managing and cleaning complex datasets, the program prepared me to translate real business questions into data-driven solutions. The small cohort size and hands-on approach made me highly competitive during the interview process—and ultimately helped me secure my role.”

This sentiment of personalized growth is echoed by Skylar Lister, former student, and current International Affairs Business Manager at SUU. For Lister, the strength of the program lay in its intimate learning environment and industry-standard curriculum.

"Southern Utah University’s MSBA program prepared me with hands-on, interactive, real-world analytics experience using industry-relevant tools and technologies," Lister noted. "The small class sizes fostered personalized faculty mentorship and meaningful collaboration with classmates, ensuring I developed both the technical skills and professional confidence needed for data-driven careers."
