Adult Learner Grant at SUU
The Adult Learner Grant at SUU helps adult students earn an online degree without paying full tuition. This financial aid program is funded by the State of Utah to support students returning to school.
The grant focuses on high-demand degree programs that lead to rewarding, well-paying careers. It’s a great way for adult learners to reach their goals while keeping education affordable.
If you receive the grant in Fall or Spring, it can extend over multiple semesters. This continues as long as you remain eligible. The grant applies to select fully online programs, making it easier to balance school, work, and family life.
You can use the Adult Learner Grant for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, or Summer 2026 semesters—whichever fits your schedule best.

Grant Eligibility Guidelines
This grant is given on a first-come, first-served basis for online students. You may qualify for up to your full cost of attendance.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be 26 years or older
- Be enrolled in an online graduate or undergraduate program in a field designed to meet industry needs.
- Be a Utah resident
- You must register in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester*
*You must take at least 6 credits each semester during the award period.
To receive priority funding, you must meet at least one of the following:
- Meet the priority deadline to submit the scholarship application.
- Live in a rural Utah county, defined as any county except Utah, Salt Lake, Davis, Cache, or Weber.
- Be enrolled in an eligible online graduate degree program from the list below.
