SUBJECT: Career and Technical Education (CTE) Advisory Boards


I. PURPOSE

The purpose of the SUU Career and Technical Education (CTE) Advisory Boards is to provide expertise, input, and assistance to the SUU CTE faculty and their programs.

IV. POLICY

  1. The duties of the SUU CTE Advisory boards are as follows:
    1. Provide input as to industry’s hiring needs;
    2. Review SUU CTE course content for relevance;
    3. Improve community, business, industry and University relations;
    4. Review CTE facilities and equipment; and
    5. Provide recommendations to keep SUU CTE programs relevant, properly equipped, and up-to-date.
  2. The SUU CTE Advisory Boards should be comprised of individuals from SUU CTE faculty and individuals from the Iron County School District (ICSD), Southwest Technical College (STech), the SUU Service Area (Iron, Beaver, and Garfield Counties), and the industries and businesses related to each particular CTE program. These boards should meet together on a minimum of an annual basis. A summary of the meeting minutes shall be forwarded to the Provost’s Office on an annual basis.
