Dear Students,

You made it to finals week! Take a moment to reflect on the last few months and be proud of the ways you’ve grown and all that you’ve accomplished. There is a holiday song I love called “Ordinary Days”. It is a great reminder to me that even our most ordinary days can be extraordinary. Do not discount the seemingly insignificant days you’ve had this semester! Perhaps you attended a club activity that got you really excited about your career path. Maybe you met new friends at an activity or lived with roommates who have become like family. Perhaps there was a class or lecture that changed or enhanced your perspective, or an assignment or project that you’re particularly proud of. All of these ordinary moments build up to extraordinary memories and outcomes.

As you prepare for exams and complete final papers and projects, I know it can be easy to feel overwhelmed. Remember to celebrate the progress you’ve made this semester, the challenges you’ve overcome, and the knowledge you’ve gained. All of us in the T-Bird Nation are incredibly proud of your determination and resilience and are cheering you on this week and always! Let all of the ordinary, extraordinary moments you’ve experienced at SUU be a boost of motivation and confidence.

For those graduating this semester, congratulations! We look forward to celebrating your accomplishments at the commencement in April. To everyone else, whether you're returning to campus or continuing your studies online in January, we can't wait to welcome you back.

Wishing you the best of luck with finals and a well-deserved, safe, and relaxing break.

Your fan,

Mindy
