Present Your Research
Research doesn't end in the lab. Sharing your findings with the academic community is a vital part of the scientific process. We encourage all students to showcase their work through both on-campus events and professional conferences.
On-Campus Opportunities
SUU provides high-impact platforms to share your work with our local community of scholars.- CSTEM Research Symposium: Held in November each year. Specifically for CSTEM-related research to present posters and oral presentations.
-
Festival of Excellence: Held in March each year. A campus-wide celebration of student scholarly and creative work.
State-Wide Opportunities
Take your research beyond campus. We encourage students to engage with the broader scientific community at professional conferences. These events are an opportunity to join students and faculty from across the state and country to share discoveries, gain new perspectives, and build professional connections. The College is committed to removing financial barriers for student presenters. To support this mission, we provide direct registration coverage and group transportation for our primary state conferences. No application is needed for funding to attend UCUR or Utah Academy.

National & International ConferencesMany students take their research to the next level by presenting at discipline-specific national or international conferences (e.g., ACS, APS, GSA). If you have been accepted to present your research at a professional conference in your field, the University and College offer pathways to help support your travel and attendance.
-
SUU CONNECT Travel Grants: This is a university-wide resource and should be your primary source of support.
-
Supplemental CSTEM Conference Funding: If the cost of attendance is greater than a CONNECT grant, CSTEM majors can complete the Conference Funding Application found at the bottom of this page.
CSTEM Conference Funding Guidelines
-
College funding is exclusively available to students majoring in a College of Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics program. Students from other colleges should apply for SUU CONNECT Travel funding and consult with their specific department chair for additional support.
-
Cost Stewardship: To help us support as many students as possible, we ask that participants coordinate travel and carpool whenever multiple students are attending the same conference.
-
Travel Efficiency: If multiple students are traveling to the same location, the College will prioritize funding for shared transportation rather than individual gas reimbursements for separate vehicles.
