Fire Response Instructions

Instructions on what should be done in the case of fire.

Response for All

  1. When the alarm sounds, everyone will EVACUATE! the building by proceeding to the nearest unobstructed building exit.
  2. Call 911
  3. Attempts to extinguish a fire should be made only under the following conditions:
      • Emergency notification has been made.
      • The building has been or is being evacuated.
      • Emergency notification has been made.
      • You have a partner that will help.
      • The fire is confined to its original small area.
      • You can fight the fire with your back towards an escape route.
      • You have a fire extinguisher, you know how to use it, and it is in working order. Remember the acronym PASS.
        1. P. Pull the pin.
        2. A. Aim at the base of the fire.
        3. S. Squeeze the lever.
        4. S. Sweep side to side.
