Filming and Photography Request
These procedures are a resource for individuals interested in capturing images (video/film or still photography) on the Southern Utah University campus. Please refer to the General Guidelines specific categories below for the procedures that may be applicable to the project.
General Guidelines
- Unless otherwise approved, filming and photography must not interfere with the normal operations of the University.
- Filming that intentionally captures individuals in locations where they have a reasonable expectation of privacy requires affirmative consent in writing; incidental filming in public settings does not require consent, provided any individuals captured are not the focus of the recording.
- Filming at performances of the Utah Shakespeare Festival is not permitted unless prior written approval is obtained from the Utah Shakespeare Festival.
- Due to the proximity of SUU's campus to the Cedar City Airport and security implications, the personal/hobby use of drones/UASs is prohibited.
- The University reserves the right to restrict or revoke permission for filming or photography on campus.
Academic & Commercial Guidelines
