The Finish Line Scholarship is designed to help you return and finish without a large financial burden. Your personal admissions advisor will help you through the application process to SUU.

You will be able to study when it works for your life. Our online tuition is already one of the lowest in the nation before the Finish Line Scholarship is applied.

This scholarship provides an excellent opportunity for previous SUU students and Transfer students to come back to school and finish their degree. Here are the details on what this scholarship can provide to you:

  • The Finish Line Scholarship provides a maximum of $1500 per semester for up to four semesters.
  • This scholarship is applied after Pell Grants (if any) and can only be used towards tuition. Student fees, course fees, study abroad program fees, books, housing, and other educational expenses are not covered as a part of this scholarship.
  • The Finish Line Scholarship cannot be stacked with other institutional scholarships from SUU.
  • This scholarship is only for students attending Southern Utah University's online programs.

The Finish Line Scholarship provides assistance to undergraduate students looking to complete their first bachelor's degree. If you've already completed your bachelor's degree SUU offers affordable online and on-campus master’s degree programs.

 

Start Your Journey With the Finish Line Scholarship

The following are key requirements for the Finish Line Scholarship. Applicants wishing to review the Finish Line Scholarship Procedures are encouraged to email the Finish Line Coordinator at finishline@suu.edu or call in at  435-865-8665.

  • Students must be fully online to be eligible
  • You must enroll in at least 12 credits of online courses each semester at Southern Utah University. This scholarship lasts for up to 4 semesters.
  • Transfer students and returning SUU students may be eligible for this scholarship. You must have already earned at least 24 college level credits in order to qualify.
  • Students who have taken classes at SUU in the last 12 months do not qualify for this scholarship.
  • Program Requirements:
    • Students in the RN to BSN program do not qualify
    • Students in the Speedway Program do not qualify
    • Students in the Library Media program do not qualify
    • Students who have already earned their first Bachelor's degree do not qualify
    • Students pursuing Master's or Doctoral level degrees do not qualify
  • Citizenship Requirements:
    • To be eligible, you must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S National, U.S. Permanent Resident, a citizen of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, or the Republic of Palau.
    • International students who do not meet the above nationality equipments will not qualify for the Finish Line Scholarship.

Students wishing to continue in the Finish Line Scholarship must meet the criteria below:

    • You must maintain a cumulative SUU GPA of 2.0 and pass at least 70% of your attempted SUU credits.
    • You are not required to take summer courses as part of the Finish Line Scholarship, but if you choose to attend the summer semester you must take at least 12 credits to be eligible for the Finish Line Scholarship in that semester.
    • This scholarship can be applied for a maximum of four consecutive semesters. Students wishing to take a leave of absence (one or more semesters off) must submit a leave of absence request for review.
    • Students who do not meet the requirements to renew their scholarship will be ineligible to continue receiving it. Students in this situation are welcome to appeal this decision through the scholarship appeal form
