The Finish Line Scholarship is designed to help you return and finish without a large financial burden. Your personal admissions advisor will help you through the application process to SUU. 

You may be wondering how you will have the time to complete your bachelor's degree and maintain your work and family life. Our online degrees are designed with busy adults in mind. You will be able to study when it works for your life. Our online tuition is already one of the lowest in the nation before the Finish Line Scholarship is applied. Plus, if you would like to attend on-campus courses the Finish Line Scholarship is still there for you!

The following are key requirements for the Finish Line Scholarship. Applicants wishing to review the Finish Line Scholarship Procedures are encouraged to email the Finish Line Coordinator at finishline@suu.edu or call in at  435-865-8665.

  • Students seeking to receive the Finish Line Scholarship must do the following: Apply for the Scholarship, Apply to SUU, and Apply for the FAFSA.
  • You must enroll in at least 12 credits of online or on-campus courses each semester at Southern Utah University.
  • The Finish Line Scholarship is open to transfer students and to returning SUU students who haven't taken classes at SUU in the last year. 
  • The Finish Line Scholarship is not available to Incoming freshmen who graduated with a high school diploma within the last 3 years.
  • Students must be completing their first bachelor's degree. Finish Line funds cannot be used for graduate degrees.
  • The Finish Line Scholarship cannot be stacked with other institutional scholarships from SUU. 
  • Admission to SUU does not guarantee eligibility for the Finish Line Scholarship Program. 
  • You cannot have attended SUU within the past year. 
  • Students in the RN to BSN do not qualify for the Finish Line Scholarship.
  • Students in the Speedway Program do not qualify for the Finish Line Scholarship.

The Finish Line Scholarship provides a maximum of $1500 per semester for up to four semesters. This scholarship is applied after Pell Grants (if any) and can only be used towards tuition. Student fees, course fees, study abroad program fees, books, housing, and other educational expenses are not covered as a part of the program.

Deciding to go to college is a big decision. SUU's online offerings provide increased flexibility beyond what the traditional on-campus experience can give. The Finish Line Scholarship provides assistance to undergraduate students looking to complete their first bachelor's degree. If you've already completed your bachelor's degree SUU offers affordable online and on-campus master’s degree programs.

 

Start Your Journey With the Finish Line Scholarship

Students wishing to continue in the Finish Line Scholarship must meet the criteria below:

    • You must maintain a cumulative SUU GPA of 2.0 and pass at least 70% of your attempted SUU credits.
    • You are not required to take summer courses as part of the Finish Line Scholarship, but if you choose to attend the summer semester you must take at least 12 credits to be eligible for the Finish Line Scholarship in that semester.
    • This scholarship can be applied for a maximum of four consecutive semesters. Students wishing to take a leave of absence (one or more semesters off) must submit a leave of absence request for review.
    • In order to receive up to full tuition funding, you must remain Federal Pell Grant eligible.
    • Students who do not meet the requirements to renew their scholarship will be ineligible to continue receiving it. Students in this situation are welcome to appeal this decision through the scholarship appeal form
