The Gerald R. Sherratt Library, located on the campus of Southern Utah University, serves our campus and local communities through a wide range of services.
Library Mission and Vision
Mission
To feed curiosity and inspire the habits, skills, and dispositions in patrons necessary to learn, create, discover, adapt, and grow.
Vision
To serve the learning community of Southern Utah University (SUU) by facilitating knowledge creation, curation, access, transmission, and innovation. We will:
- Uphold, improve, and apply the library's core values of access, service, outreach, education, and research.
- Sustain a learning environment that is free, open, and responsive to stakeholders using socially responsible and democratic methods
- Safeguard intellectual freedom and multiplicities of thought in scholarly and creative discovery
- Embrace stewardship toward stakeholders, collections in a variety of formats (such as high quality print/electronic resources), and intellectual and creative discourse
- Support academic success, student retention by educating students, and encourage personal, intellectual and creative growth
