SUU to Host Third Annual XR Southern Summit

Southern Utah University is thrilled to announce the third-annual XR Southern Summit, a national conference focused on innovations in virtual reality, augmented reality, and extended reality within higher education and industry. The Summit will take place on February 25th and 26th at Southern Utah University’s campus. Registration for the event will close on February 17th.
Industry leaders and enthusiasts will gather to explore how new technologies are transforming education and professional industries. The Summit will feature expert panels, plenary speaking sessions, and engaging workshops to showcase how XR is revolutionizing both sectors. Kortney Harding, founder of Friends with Holograms, will deliver the keynote address. The plenary speakers will include Bea Rodriguez-Fransen, co-founder and director of ASU Next Lab and Senior Futures Scholar, and Ben Naugton Rumbo, chief revenue officer at Bodyswaps. Expert panel speakers will include David Nelson, Director of Mixed Reality Research lab (MxR) from University of Southern California, and Brave Williams, Director of the iEX Center, Husson University, along with 7 SUU faculty.

Tuesday, February 25:

The Summit’s mission is to showcase the uses of XR technologies in various fields, foster collaboration, and build relationships among educators, industry leaders, and students. This highly anticipated conference has historically drawn major industry giants from across the nation.
The XR Southern Summit is a part of the VR/AI Initiative at SUU, an initiative of faculty and students dedicated to offering hands-on learning opportunities through integrated innovative technologies and AI solutions in higher education.
