Southern Utah University’s Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business is proud to celebrate its professional sales team, for securing second place at the prestigious National Collegiate Sports Sales Championship. The competition is a highly respected venue for sales students to refine their skills and connect with leading sales organizations in the sports sales industry. This year, the team’s performance earned them recognition as top contenders.
Among the standout performers was Josh Miles, a Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business student who won second place individually in the event. Alice Annaccarato, another talented business student, advanced impressively far in the competition as well.
The professional sales team, Kade Andra, McKell Shumway, Josh Miles, and Alice Annaccarato, earned second place in the overall competition. The team's collective success is a proud moment for the Leavitt School of Business and SUU as a whole.
“I am super grateful to have had the opportunity to travel to the NCSSC Competition this last month,” said Miles. “Our team did amazing, and I couldn’t have done it without them and the energy each of them brings. I’m thankful to the director of the sales program here at SUU, Kurt Wankier, for his constant support and help in preparing for this competition.”
“The NCSSC competition is unique in its structure and challenge,” said Kurt Wankier, director of the Professional Sales program at SUU. “The competition is a 64 participant bracket where each round is a win or go home scenario. Alice and Josh went toe-to-toe with the top competitors–for an entire day they won round after round, until Josh advanced to the finals and Alice was barely edged out. We could not be more impressed or proud of our team’s performance.”
The NCSSC is a valuable platform for students to showcase their sales capabilities and secure career opportunities with top-tier sales organizations. The competition challenges students to navigate real-world sales scenarios, requiring a mix of strategic thinking, communication skills, and emotional intelligence. For the Leavitt School of Business’s professional sales team, this recognition demonstrates the school’s commitment to excellence in preparing students for success in the competitive sales industry.
“The SUU Sales Program and our sponsors have created invaluable opportunities for students to receive real-life skills before they can showcase them in the real world,” said Miles. “The opportunities I’ve had to network with other professionals and showcase my skills have been extremely rewarding.”
As the team celebrates this impressive achievement, they continue to build on the momentum, with aspirations for even greater success in future competitions. Join or learn more about the professional sales team today!Tags: School of Business
