CEDAR CITY, UT — The Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games (LHM USG), an outreach department of Southern Utah University, has partnered with the Utah Department of Cultural and Community Engagement (CCE) in support of the 2025 program year.
The partnership will feature CCE becoming the presenting sponsor of the Summer Games Serves initiative through its UServeUtah division (the Utah Commission on Service and Volunteerism). It will also provide other cultural opportunities for Summer Games participants and spectators throughout the 2025 season. Several CCE divisions will also participate in the “LHM USG Block Party, presented by KSL 5 TV” and the “LHM USG Opening Ceremony, presented by State Bank of Southern Utah."
“It is a privilege to partner with the Utah Department of Cultural & Community Engagement on opportunities to align the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games with civic engagement,” said Jon Oglesby, executive director of the Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games. “We are hopeful this is the start of a long partnership between our department and CCE, providing both entities with collaborative opportunities that improve the lives of Utahns and USG participants.”
LHM USG began their “Summer Games Serves” initiative in 2024, benefitting the SUU Food Pantry and the Iron County School District Foundation. The 2025 rendition of the program will include both the SUU Food Pantry and a statewide effort to have USG participants engage in service opportunities across the state through UServeUtah.
“At CCE, we believe in the importance of building community, and this partnership offers opportunities to amplify our service and cultural programs,” said Katherine Potter, deputy director of the department. “We are thrilled to think about the statewide reach of service initiatives, particularly during Utah’s upcoming year-long celebration of America250, our country’s founding anniversary.”
