Chandler StewartThe Leavitt School of Business is excited to introduce Professor Chandler Stewart, the newest addition to the Leavitt School of Business faculty. In his new role, Professor Stewart will be teaching courses on strategy, management, business, government, and ethics. Students can expect engaging, real-world lessons that go beyond the textbook

“I’m not looking for drudgery in this job, and I don’t think students are seeking it either,” he said. "My goal is for students to learn something useful while having a good time doing so."

After a distinguished 30-year career with the California Highway Patrol, Stewart decided to pursue a second career in higher education. Stewart served in a variety of roles during his career with the highway patrol. His diverse experience and leadership in high-pressure environments have shaped his approach to management and strategy.

While considering his next career move, Stewart kept coming back to academia. He completed his MBA as part of his preparation for a transition into private industry but found himself drawn to the community and culture at SUU and the Leavitt School of Business. Stewart brings a lifetime of experience in teaching and presenting. His teaching philosophy focuses on delivering practical knowledge that students can apply in real-world scenarios, ensuring that lessons are both engaging and valuable.

“I want students to gain the kind of knowledge that will serve them in their careers, whether it comes from the textbook or not,” he said.

Stewart is eager to make an impact in the classroom and help students prepare for successful careers in management and beyond. The Leavitt School of Business is proud to welcome such an accomplished and passionate individual to our faculty and looks forward to the many ways in which Professor Stewart will contribute to the community.
