Jazz Ensemble One Kicks Off 2025-26 Music Masterworks Series

SUU Jazz Ensemble One Fall Concert.Southern Utah University’s Department of Music invites the community to the first concert of its 2025-26 Music Masterworks Series, the Fall Jazz Ensemble One Concert on Monday, November 3, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in the Heritage Center Theater. This concert, under the direction of Dr. Adam Lambert, promises an exciting evening of energy, creativity, and beautiful music.

The evening will open with a performance by the Snow Canyon High School Jazz Ensemble, directed by Mr. Jacob Nielsen, followed by SUU’s Jazz Ensemble One performing an electrifying lineup of jazz classics and modern masterpieces. The program includes pieces by Ernesto Lecuona, Pat Metheny & Lyle Mays, George Gershwin, Alan Baylock, Sammy Nestico, Bob Mentzer, Hank Levy, and Don Menza.

Throughout the performance, audience members will enjoy instrumental and vocal solos by outstanding students from SUU’s Music program, showcasing both their technical skill and artistic expression.

“Jazz Ensemble One represents the best of SUU’s jazz tradition,” said Dr. Adam Lambert, Director of Bands and Music Department Chair at SUU. “This concert brings together incredible student talent and timeless music that celebrates rhythm, creativity, and collaboration. It’s a night that reminds us why live jazz is such a vibrant part of our cultural landscape.”

The Music Masterworks Series is a yearlong celebration of SUU’s musical excellence, featuring performances by over 300 students and esteemed faculty members. The 2025-26 season continues with:
