Honoring SUU’s 2025 Influencer Award Nominees

SUU red letter sign.Southern Utah University’s Division of Student Affairs and the Career and Professional Development Center proudly continue the tradition of recognizing outstanding faculty and staff through the annual Influencer Awards. This honor highlights individuals who have gone above and beyond to support, inspire, and guide students on their academic and personal journeys. In 2025, the award shines a spotlight on remarkable members of the campus community whose dedication has made a lasting difference in the lives of T-Birds.

“The SUU Influencer Award allows students the opportunity to recognize faculty and staff on campus who have had a significant impact on their lives while attending SUU,” said Brandon Street, director of the Career & Professional Development Center. “It provides students with an outlet to formally thank those who have such a positive influence on their lives. In turn, faculty and staff have expressed just how much this recognition means to them. This award is not based on a committee decision but comes straight from students on campus. Nothing is more rewarding than having a student take the time to say, ‘Thank you!’ It's why we do what we do.”

SUU is deeply grateful for the faculty and staff who dedicate their time and talents to creating meaningful learning experiences, both inside and outside the classroom.

“I hope that SUU employees who receive the SUU Influencer Award truly understand what this award means. It means they, individually, had a major impact on a student's life at SUU. At times, this is the difference in a student staying or leaving SUU, choosing the major and or career they had, or finding confidence in who they are as an individual. It means they are making a difference,” said Street. 

Thanks to the students who take the time to nominate their professors and other campus mentors, the University is able to celebrate the incredible individuals who have made a lasting impact on their education and success.
