The 2025-26 Music Masterworks Series is proud to present the SUU Symphony Orchestra concert The Spirit of Classical Music on Friday, November 14, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. in the Heritage Center Theater. Directed by Dr. Xun Sun and featuring guest pianist Kipper Roach, this concert promises an evening of powerful performances and inspiring artistry. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for alumni, and $5 for youth. As always, SUU students, faculty, and staff are admitted free with a valid SUU I.D. Tickets can be purchased at the Heritage Center Theater box office the night of the performance.
The program will include works by some of the greatest composers in Western music—Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, Anton Rubinstein, Igor Stravinsky, and Brian Balmages. Each piece highlights a different facet of classical music’s enduring spirit, from the elegance and balance of the Classical era to the bold innovation of today.
Dr. Sun shared his excitement for the concert, saying, “The spirit of classical music lives in its ability to transcend time and speak directly to the heart. This program celebrates not only the genius of these composers but also the energy and passion of our student musicians who bring the music to life.”
