Competition winners pose together. The Southern Utah University Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business proudly welcomed students for its annual Professional Sales "Sales Never Fails" competition. With more than 40 student competitors and over $2,500 donated by corporate sponsors, the event is the largest sales-focused competition of the fall semester and is open to students across campus. This year's competition featured two tracks: Negotiation and Sales.

The Multiparty Negotiation Track challenged students to compete against each other in a realistic negotiation scenario. Participants were divided into four different groups of up to six students and were assigned specific roles within a detailed case study. Each team was given 90 minutes to reach a negotiated settlement and was judged based on the conditions achieved and how well they completed the negotiations for their assigned role. One winner was selected from each group. This year's Negotiation Track winners were Austin Renstrom, Isaac Iverson, Landon Brian, and Cason Rhoton, with each student earning a $200 cash prize.

The Sales Role Play Track gave students the opportunity to demonstrate professional selling skills through a competitive, multi-round format. Using a case study, participants advanced through March Madness-style rounds focused on discovery, presentation, negotiation, and closing. The sales portion of this competition was concluded with a live final round, where Isaac Van Drimmelen won first place and a $500 grand prize, followed by Pénélope Campion, who received second place and $250.

The Sales Never Fails Competition is open to all SUU students, regardless of their major. All competitors were provided dinner and had the opportunity to network with industry professionals, receive mentorship from judges, and gain hands-on experience in sales and negotiation skills.

The Professional Sales Program hosts several large-scale, competition-style events throughout the year in a variety of settings to prepare students for success in a competitive business environment. The on-campus program teaches students how to effectively sell themselves, their business, and their ideas, providing real-world experience applicable across many career paths.
