A man looking at a laptop writing in a notebookSouthern Utah University announces the launch of the Friday Career Connection, a new interview-style podcast designed to pull back the curtain on career success and help college students learn how to proactively manage their careers.

“Career outcomes are the primary reason people pursue a college education,“ said podcast host and Associate Vice President of Graduate and Online Enrollment Tad Brinkerhoff. “By bringing experienced leaders and career experts to the table, we provide our students with practical advice and networking perspectives that are essential in today’s job market.”

The podcast begins January 9 and will be conducted each Friday at noon MT via Zoom. The podcast opens with meaningful guests such as ZConnect CEO Troy Blanchard, Penny Farms Community Partner Brandon Day, and Executive Career Coach Jen Anderson.

While the program is primarily developed for SUU’s online and graduate students, who cannot attend on-campus career and recruiting events, the content is highly relevant to on-campus students, the broader Utah collegiate community, and to students at partner institutions such as Southern Virginia University, thus extending these career-focused resources to a wider audience.

As the Utah state legislature has directed its colleges to focus on career outcomes, the Friday Career Connection podcast further demonstrates SUU’s commitment to student success by offering a convenient platform for listeners to learn about industry trends, leadership strategies, and the support systems available to them during and after their degree programs.
