Cedar City, UT — Southern Utah University’s Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business Professional Sales ( SUU ProSales ) program recently held its annual Thunder Sales Competition, bringing together students, faculty, and industry professionals for one of the most anticipated events of the year for the college. Dedicated to helping students hone their real-world sales and communication skills, the competition spanned multiple days and featured a variety of engaging activities.
This year's event included a negotiation competition, two sales role-play competitions, a career fair, keynote address, and an awards dinner. These activities provided students with invaluable opportunities to practice negotiation, relationship-building, and professional communication in realistic business scenarios.
Leading up to the competition, SUU ProSales hosted Thunder Sales workshops. These workshops were designed to help participants refine their pitches, enhance their role-play performances, and strengthen their negotiation strategies with guidance from experienced students in the program.
Several students were recognized for their exceptional performances during the competition. Winners of the negotiation competition included Ashton Miller, Carlos Barron, and Jack Fairchild. In the beginner role-play division, Brayden Bennett claimed first place, with Mitchell Cordes in second, and Karlie Arnold in third. Advanced role-play winners were Isaac Iverson in first place, followed by Isaac Van Drimmelen in second, and Trevor Tucker in third.
The career fair spotlighted the different sales companies in attendance, offering participants the chance to connect with recruiters and employers from various industries. Students from across campus attended the fair, which featured networking opportunities, appetizers, and exciting raffle prizes.
The Thunder Sales Competition continues to offer SUU students valuable hands-on experience while fostering strong connections with industry professionals. SUU ProSales is proud to support the professional growth and success of its students through such dynamic and impactful events.
